Privacy Policy

Becker Professional Development International Limited and its related companies or affiliates (“Becker” or “we”) respect the privacy of every individual who visits our websites or responds to our promotions. We provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the way your information is collected and used. This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on Becker websites, unless otherwise posted.

Information Collected From You

Personal information is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, for example, your name, home or work address, e-mail address, or telephone number. If you choose to make a purchase, we may collect additional information, such as your credit card number and billing address. If you choose to receive our newsletter or direct marketing emails, we will also record such preference. We may also collect personal data if you participate in a voluntary survey. Except as explained in the next paragraph, Becker does not collect any personal information from you unless you provide it voluntarily. Some of our services however require you to provide us some personal information in order to enable us to provide the service (such as sending an email). In such cases, we indicate in our data collection forms the mandatory fields with an asterisk (*). If you do not want your personal information collected, please do not submit it to us.

Becker may also collect information, which may be considered as personal information in your country, about your interaction with Becker sites and services without identifying you as an individual. Some of this information includes standardized information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser type and language. We also use Web site analytics tools on our sites to retrieve information from your browser, including the site you came from, the search engine(s) and the keywords you used to find our site, the pages you view within our site, your browser add-ons, and your browser’s width and height. We use technologies, such as cookies (described below), to collect information about the pages you view, the links you click and other actions you take on our sites and services to better service your needs.

Use of the Personal Information We Collect

We use the personal information we collect

  • to communicate with you regarding the courses we provide you;
  • to communicate information on technical service issues and issues with delivery of our courses to you, security announcements, course registration dates and locations, professional examination dates and locations, professional certification requirements;
  • to offer and deliver our services;
  • to bill you for the services you purchased;
  • to better understand your needs; and
  • to improve our products and services.

If we are required to provide you with notice of a particular event or incident, we will send you that notice by e-mail, telephone, or mail.

Some of these communications may come from our marketing department to notify you of other courses or products we offer that may be of interest to you in furthering your professional education. If you receive a marketing e-mail from Becker about our products or services and you do not wish to receive such e-mails in the future, you may opt-out of them by following the specific instructions in the marketing e-mail you receive. Opting out of marketing e-mails will only stop the receipt of those e-mails, not “necessary” e-mails, for example, registration information, technical service issues, etc.
